Chicago Chapter covers the city and the collar counties: Naperville, Schaumburg, Joliet and the south suburbs. There is no single flagship meet here and a local will tell you so. The scene is a dozen suburban car parks from April to October, and it moves.
The track season is good and close. Autobahn Country Club at Joliet is the local road course, Blackhawk Farms is up at South Beloit, and Road America at Elkhart Lake is two hours north and worth every minute of it.
Winter is the other half of owning a car here. Salt, six months in storage or six months of washing the underside, and emissions testing that applies in these counties and not in most of the state.
