Octane Department is a private community for car and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts. Wherever you join from, the site is operated and the membership is sold by IM Integrated-Minerals LLP, Flat No. D-67, Arya Nagar Apartment, 91, I.P. Extension, Patparganj, New Delhi, Delhi 110092, India.
These terms are the agreement between you and us. They apply the moment you use octanedepartment.com, whether you are browsing, holding a free Garage account or paying for Octane+. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Driving culture, drives and track days are not activities we open to minors, and payments require an adult account holder.
You also confirm that:
the details you give us, including your name, city and the vehicles in your garage, are true;
you are using your own account and not acting for someone else without telling us;
no law stops you from entering into this agreement, and we have not previously removed you from the community.
The community started in India and is open to members in India, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. You are welcome to read from anywhere. Drives, events and partner benefits are organised locally, so what is on offer differs from one country to the next.

Your account
You sign in with an 8-digit code we email to you, or with Google. A code works once and expires after 15 minutes. There is no password to remember, which means your email inbox is the key to your account. Keep it secure.
One account per person. Sharing a login, or holding several accounts to work around a club decision, is not allowed.
Everything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at support@octanedepartment.com the moment you think someone else has access.
Keep your profile accurate. Club verification depends on it.
You can close your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

Membership, what it costs and how long it lasts
There are three ways to be here.
Free
₹0, forever. Your garage with two machines, up to three clubs at a time, verification of your machines, replies to any member who writes to you, public clubs and drives, and the ability to explore other garages.
Octane+
₹999 founding price, ₹2,999 from 26 December, for one year. Founding your first club, included once. Up to five machines, as many clubs as you like including private ones, starting conversations and club invitations within the limits shown on the membership page, the build sheet, fuller member discovery, and priority on drives.
Octane Black
₹4,999 founding price, ₹14,999 from 26 December, for one year. Everything in Octane+ without the normal limits, a Black membership number that stays with your account, the Black network, Black experiences and priority, the right to request special access to clubs, and the member kit when it ships.
Founding prices are available until 25 December 2026. After that the standard price applies to new purchases. Recognition as a founding member is permanent.

Founding a crew club
Members can found their own club, called a crew. Octane+ includes founding one club, once. After that the founding fee is ₹2,999, or ₹4,999 for a further club inside thirty days. Black includes three clubs, then ₹1,999 each. Any fee is shown before you pay. A founding fee is paid once. It is not a subscription and there is no annual charge on a crew club. Every club, whoever founds it, is subject to our review and can be declined or closed for breaking these terms.
The fee buys you the right to create one club and run it: the club page, its rules, its application flow, its member roster and its drives. It does not buy a guarantee of members, activity or revenue.
A club included with your membership is created when you submit it. Where a fee applies, the amount is shown before you pay, and we create the club once the payment succeeds.
As the club owner you are responsible for what happens inside your club, including how you review applications and treat applicants.
You must not charge people to join your club, or use it to sell or advertise, without written agreement from us.

Referral rewards
Every member has a personal invitation link. A friend counts once they join through it, or add your code, and then have a machine verified after the code was entered. 3 verified friends earn 90 days of Octane+, 10 earn 365 days of Octane+, and 25 earn 365 days of Octane Black. The counts add up, and each reward can be claimed once.
A reward is time on a membership, added from the later of today and the end of the membership you already hold. It is not a purchase: it has no cash value, cannot be refunded, exchanged or transferred, never counts as a founding purchase, and does not issue a Black number.
A referral is fixed once it is entered. One referral per account, never your own code, and never the code of someone who entered yours.
Each machine counts once, ever, and never when the same machine is in the garage of the member who invited.
We can withhold or remove a reward earned through duplicate accounts, borrowed machines, false documents or any other abuse of the programme.

Payments
Payments are taken through Razorpay in Indian rupees or US dollars, depending on your billing country. Payments in UAE dirhams open later. The payment methods offered depend on the country; in India they are UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets. Razorpay is the payment processor. Your card number, CVV and UPI credentials go to Razorpay and never touch our servers.
We store what we need to prove the transaction happened: the Razorpay order id, the payment id, the amount, the status and the date. Nothing more.
Access is granted the moment we receive confirmation from Razorpay, which is usually seconds. If money leaves your account and your access does not appear, read Service Delivery and then write to us. We will fix it or return the money.
Your billing country is the one on your account. It sets the currency and the price, and it can be changed only while no paid membership is active. A refund is always made in the currency the payment was taken in.
Prices in Indian rupees include GST at 18 percent. Prices in other currencies include local taxes where they are required.

Clubs, applications and verification
Private clubs are for verified owners. When you apply to one, the club may ask you to upload proof that the vehicle is yours, such as a registration certificate or a photo of you with the vehicle.
Upload only your own documents, and only for a vehicle you actually own.
Falsifying ownership proof is grounds for immediate removal from the community, with no refund.
Club admins and Department admins review applications. They can approve or decline, and they do not have to explain a decline.
Paying for Octane+ makes you eligible to apply to private clubs. It does not guarantee that any particular club accepts you.

How to behave here
The forums are the heart of this place. They work because people post honestly and argue in good faith. Do not post:
abuse, harassment, threats, or hate directed at anyone because of religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability or where they are from;
anything unlawful, obscene, or sexual;
someone else's personal information, including registration numbers, addresses or phone numbers, without their consent;
content you do not have the rights to, including photographs taken by someone else;
spam, referral links, dropshipping, crypto promotion or repeated advertising;
impersonation of another member, a manufacturer, a dealership or the Department itself;

Your content, and the licence you give us
Your photos, posts, build threads and comments stay yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you upload.
You do give us a licence to run the service: a worldwide, royalty free, non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce, resize and display your content inside Octane Department, and to use it in a preview of the site such as a club page shown to a prospective member. That licence exists so the site can function. It ends for future use when you delete the content or your account, though copies may remain in backups for a short period.
If we ever want to use your photograph in marketing outside the site, we ask you first.
By posting, you confirm the content is yours to post and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, write to us with the link and proof of ownership and we will take it down or explain why not.

Our brand and our content
The Octane Department name, logo, wordmark, page designs, written copy and code belong to us. You may not copy them, or build a competing community out of them, without written permission.
Manufacturer and model names are used descriptively to say which vehicles a club or a thread is about. Octane Department is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer.

Community advice is not professional advice
Threads here carry opinions from owners and enthusiasts. Some of it is excellent. None of it is professional mechanical, engineering, legal, insurance or financial advice, and we do not check it before it is posted.
Before you act on anything you read here, especially work on brakes, suspension, engine internals, tyres, fuelling or anything that changes how a vehicle behaves, have a qualified mechanic look at it first. Modifications can affect your warranty, your insurance and the legality of your vehicle on the road where you live. That is your responsibility, not ours.
Drives and events
Drives, meets and track days are organised by members and by us. You take part at your own risk. You must hold a valid licence and valid insurance, obey every traffic law, and drive within your ability and the conditions. A track day is not an exemption from common sense. We are not responsible for what happens on the road.

Octane Partners
Businesses listed as Octane Partners are on the site under a separate agreement, the Partner Terms. A business is not a member. The Octane Partner label means the business has been accepted onto a curated list and pays for its listing; it is not our endorsement and not a guarantee of the work.
A business relationship never changes a member's rights. A partner can write to you only about a quote request you opened with it, cannot export your details, and cannot see your email address or your profile. What a business pays never changes the order in which businesses are shown to you; sponsored placements are labelled as such.

The service itself
We work to keep the site up, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance happens, hosting fails occasionally, and features change as the community grows.
We may change, add or retire features. If we retire something central to what Octane+ members paid for, we will say so in advance and we will be fair about the remaining time on your pass.

Suspension and termination
You can stop using Octane Department at any time and delete your account from the app, from your account page on the site, or by writing to us. How deletion works, what is erased and what is kept is set out in the Privacy Policy and at octanedepartment.com/account/delete.
We can suspend or close an account when someone:
breaks these terms, especially the conduct rules;
falsifies ownership documents or club applications;
puts other members at risk, on the road or in the forums;
attempts fraud, including chargebacks on payments they made and used.
If we close a paid account because of something you did, the remaining time on the membership is not refunded. If we close a paid account for our own reasons, including shutting a part of the service down, we refund the unused part of the year.

Limitation of liability
To the extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss: lost profit, lost data, damage to a vehicle, injury arising from advice posted by another member, or anything that happens at a drive or on a track.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Changes to these terms
We update these terms as the community changes. The date at the top always shows the current version.
For a material change, such as one that affects what you paid for or how we handle your data, we email members before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If you do not, close your account, and if a paid year is still running, write to us.

Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Before anything reaches a court, write to us at support@octanedepartment.com. Almost everything gets solved in an email.

A founding price is kept only on continuous renewal.
If you paid a founding price, you keep it for the same membership when you renew before your year ends or within the 7 days of grace that follow it. Once grace has passed without a renewal, the next year is at the price of the day. Moving from Octane+ to Black, or paying the standard price for any year, ends the founding price for that membership. Time earned through referrals never counts as a founding purchase and never sets or extends a founding price.
When a year ends. For 7 days after the end date everything keeps working. After that the membership returns to Free: seats in private clubs, clubs above three and machines above two pause, and you choose which stay live. Nothing is deleted. Your posts, photos, records, verified mark and Black number stay, and everything paused comes back when you renew.
A membership is a one-time annual payment, not a subscription. We do not set up a recurring mandate, we do not store a mandate against your card or UPI id, and nothing is charged automatically. Your pass runs for 365 days from the day the payment succeeds. When it ends, it ends as described above. If you want another year, you pay again. Moving from Octane+ to Black is a new payment; the unused part of your Octane+ year carries into the Black year.
Refunds. Once you have founded your included club or used a member benefit, the membership is not refundable. The full rules, and the window for an unused membership, are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Benefits are the ones described on the membership page on the day you pay, with the limits shown there. We may add benefits, we may adjust a limit for everyone, and we may retire a partner benefit if a partner leaves. We will not remove the core of what you paid for. Black benefits that involve access to an event or an experience give you eligibility or priority; unless the membership page says a specific event is included, the event has its own price.
Prices can change. A change never affects a pass you have already paid for. The new price applies the next time you buy.
We can archive a club that breaks these terms, sits abandoned or is used to harass people. If we archive a club for our own reasons rather than yours, we refund the founding fee.
content that encourages illegal street racing, dangerous driving on public roads, or evading traffic law.
Do not attack the site either: no scraping at scale, no automated account creation, no probing for vulnerabilities without telling us first, and no reselling access to member-only areas.
We can edit, hide or delete content that breaks these rules, and we do not have to warn you first. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members: the content is removed, and the account can be suspended or closed.
