Driving and riding across borders. Carnets, visas, shipping, spares and a route that takes months.
Continent Crossings is the club for journeys measured in borders. Carnet de passage and where one is still required, temporary import paperwork, visas and the order they have to be applied for, insurance that really covers the country you are entering, shipping a car or a motorcycle by sea or air and what it costs, spares and tools chosen for a place with no courier, fuel quality and what it does to a modern engine, and routes planned around seasons rather than dates.
For drivers and riders who have crossed a continent, are on the way, or are three years into planning it. Every kind of machine, from a small motorcycle to an expedition vehicle.
What happens here: border reports by crossing, updated by the last person through, paperwork checklists per country, shipping quotes and agents named, packing and spares lists that survived the trip, breakdown accounts written honestly, and members hosting members who are coming through.
