Woodward on the third Saturday of August, and eleven months of getting ready for it.
Detroit Chapter covers Detroit, the Woodward corridor, Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids. The Woodward Dream Cruise runs on the third Saturday of August along 16 miles of Woodward Avenue through nine communities, with something like a million people and 40,000 cars. It started in 1995 as a Ferndale fundraiser with about 250 cars and it has not stopped growing since. Woodward is where the first mile of concrete highway in the country was laid, which is not a coincidence.
US 131 Motorsports Park at Martin is the fastest strip in the state, and in 2026 it held the first NHRA national event in Michigan in over 65 years. GingerMan Raceway near South Haven and Mid-Ohio three hours south carry the road course season.
This is also a company town. A lot of members here draw the cars for a living, which makes the build threads unusually specific and the opinions unusually strong.
For any car or motorcycle owner in Detroit and south-east Michigan. Open with approval, and an ownership photo so chapter runs are made of real vehicles.
What happens here: Dream Cruise staging, parking and cruising plans that actually work, meet listings along the Woodward corridor, group entries at GingerMan and Mid-Ohio, drag entries at Martin, winter storage and salt protection, and shop, machining and paint referrals across the metro.
