The month of May, the US Nationals over Labor Day, and half the race shops in the country up the road.
Indianapolis Chapter covers Indianapolis, Brownsburg, Fishers and central Indiana. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is 2.5 miles of oval with a road course inside it and a yard of bricks at the start line, and the month of May is not a figure of speech here: practice, qualifying and the 500 take over the city for four weeks.
Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park at Brownsburg holds the NHRA US Nationals over Labor Day weekend, which is the largest drag race in the world.
And Brownsburg itself is the reason a lot of members are here. A large share of the NHRA and IndyCar teams, and the engine, gearbox and fabrication businesses behind them, are based within a few miles of that one interchange. If you need something made properly, somebody in this chapter knows who makes it.
For any car or motorcycle owner in Indianapolis and central Indiana. Open with approval, and an ownership photo so chapter runs are made of real vehicles.
What happens here: meet listings across the metro, Indianapolis 500 and US Nationals planning, parking and ticket threads, group entries at the road course and at Putnam Park, fabrication, machining and engine building referrals from the local industry, winter storage and salt protection, and job and apprenticeship threads for members trying to get into racing.
