Mussoorie before the tourists, Chakrata beyond them, and the Chopta run when there is a long weekend.
Shivalik Riders is the Uttarakhand riding chapter and the natural training ground for anyone planning a Himalayan ride. Mussoorie and Dhanaulti at first light, the Chakrata and Yamuna valley road, the Rishikesh and Devprayag route along the Ganga, Chopta and Tungnath on a long weekend, and the Kumaon crossing to Nainital and Munsiyari. Descent discipline, engine braking and reading a wet hairpin are taught here rather than assumed.
For any motorcycle owner based in or regularly riding through Uttarakhand and the Garhwal foothills. Open with approval; an ownership photo is required so ride-outs are made up of real machines. Full gear on every chapter ride.
What happens here: fortnightly breakfast rides with a lead and a sweep, the Mussoorie and Dhanaulti climbs, the Devprayag river road and a monthly deeper Garhwal or Kumaon run, local mechanic and tyre-fitter referrals, and hosting duties when other chapters ride through.
