Tamhini, Malshej, Varandha and Amby Valley. Four hours of corners and a monsoon that owns half the year.
Western Ghats Riders is a corner-riding chapter. Tamhini and Varandha, Malshej and Naneghat, the Lavasa and Amby Valley roads, Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar, and the Bhor and Mahad descents. The monsoon transforms all of it for four months, so the chapter runs a separate wet-season calendar, teaches wet cornering and tyre-condition discipline, and cancels rides without argument when the ghats are unsafe.
For any motorcycle owner based in or regularly riding through the Western Ghats around Pune. Open with approval; an ownership photo is required so ride-outs are made up of real machines. Full gear on every chapter ride.
What happens here: fortnightly breakfast rides with a lead and a sweep, the Tamhini and Varandha ghat runs, the Malshej loop and a monthly Mahabaleshwar or Konkan descent, local mechanic and tyre-fitter referrals, and hosting duties when other chapters ride through.
